The Ballad of Wallis Island and Wasteman nominated for BAFTAs

February 12, 2026

We are incredibly proud to see that The Ballad of Wallis Island and Wasteman, two of our recent post projects, have both been nominated for this year’s BAFTAs. It has been a joy to watch these features evolve from rushes to final delivery.

First premiering at Sundance in 2025, comedy The Ballad of Wallis Island has received three BAFTA nominations: Outstanding British Film, Best Adapted Screenplay (Tom Basden and Tim Key) and Best Supporting Actress (Carey Mulligan).

Directed by James Griffith and produced by Rupert Majendie for Baby Cow Productions the feature follows a strange lottery winner intent on reuniting his favourite musicians Mortimer-McGwyer (Carey Mulligan and Tom Basden) for a private gig – irrespective of the fact they split up years ago… professionally and romantically.

OnSight carried out full post production with colour by Emily Russul Saib, Sound Supervisor and Re-recording Mixer Andy Coles, Senior Online Editor Adam Sample and Lead Post Producer Jeff Halsey, all supported by our talented wider team.

Produced by Sophia Gibber and Myles Payne for Agile Films, prison thriller Wasteman, follows parolee Taylor (David Jonsson) whose fresh start hopes are jeopardized by cellmate Dee’s (Tom Blyth) arrival. As Dee takes Taylor under his wing, a vicious attack tests their bond, forcing Taylor to choose between protecting Dee and his own parole chances. Following its international premiere at TIFF and UK debut at LFF, the film has received a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer (Director Cal McMau and Writers Hunter Andrews and Eoin Doran). Wasteman is also set for a UK theatrical release on 20th February.

OnSight provided a technical finish for the film with Senior Online Editor Adam Sample completing the conform and Online edit. Mastering and deliverables were handled by our expert technical lab team for Bankside and Lionsgate. Senior Producer Jade Townsend worked alongside Agile’s Exec Producer Emma Bewley and Post Producer Dominic Strachan overseeing the workflow.

Winners will be revealed at the BAFTA Film Awards ceremony on 22 February.
