Horse Power now in cinemas!
February 9, 2026“I have made four giant screen films over the years and each presented their own formidable challenge – including our most recent giant screen Horse Power.
But there is always a silver lining when it comes to post production – OnSight. Their professionalism, expertise and talent makes the whole process of navigating this highly complex process a joy, helping us strive for new creative heights.
Thank you to all the team at OnSight” – Mark Brownlow, Head of Natural History Plimsoll Productions
Directed by Rob Sullivan Horse Power takes us on a heartwarming journey across the globe, celebrating the extraordinary abilities of horses and their inseparable bond with humanity.
In Mongolia, we join the unlikely pair of Julaa, an inspiring eight year old girl, and her foal who work together to push their endurance to the limit in the race of a lifetime. In Arizona, we see the power of wild mustangs and a Navajo horse whisperer, who earns their trust and loyalty. Viewers are also treated to the adorable antics of miniature guide horses, Digby and Hazel, comforting those in need and the courage of a draft police horse taking its toughest test in Amsterdam. Finally, the drama unfolds in China’s Gobi Desert as six Przewalski wild horses are released after near extinction, connecting with the big herd and giving hope to conserving this ancient species.
Horse Power was Produced by Mark Brownlow and Sun Shuyun under Plimsoll and EOS productions, with Line Producers Emma Johnson and Li Jianlan.
Horse Power will be released in IMAX® and Giant Screen theatres in 2026, in both 40 and 25 minute versions, distributed by SK Films.
OnSight mastered and delivered 2D, 3D at 1.43:1 and 1.90:1 and fully optimised Dome versions of both film durations. To support global exhibition formats, we created 1.43:1 and 1.90:1 masters for Giant Screen and standard theatres, P3 colour grades for both Laser and Xenon projection systems and specialised Dome versions.
The 3D components of the film were created from the 2D source footage by stereoscopic conversion, an intricate rotoscoping and VFX paint intensive process.
OnSight were delighted to help guide this epic project out of the gate and gallop on to the Giant Screen in 3D – a project built for scale. From our side, the process was overseen by Rik Tester (Operations Director) and Sam Farndale (Post Producer), keeping the project firmly on the reins throughout. The grade was completed by Andy Lee, delivering power, clarity, and Giant Screen presence.
Our online team was led by Senior Online Editor Adam Sample, with Online and VFX work handled by Dan Bourne, Andrew Fisun, and Alfie Mitchell – combining precision and momentum to take the film over the finishing line.
