BBC Studios Natural History Unit presents Wild Asia: Life At Extremes

November 19, 2025

Wild Asia invites viewers to join an epic journey across the world’s largest continent whose extreme landscapes have pushed wildlife to the limit!

Immerse yourself in the lives of a tiger family in western Nepal, watch a Tibetan fox hunting amongst yaks on the vast Tibetan Plateau, and catch intimate glimpses of the secretive red panda in its Himalayan stronghold. Meet the remarkable long-eared jerboa in the Gobi Desert and watch long-tailed tit birds feeding on “sapcicles” in Japan. In the coral seas of the Pacific, discover the cute-yet-deadly sea bunny, and witness an unbelievable shark feeding-frenzy that’s never been filmed before. Each story reveals the incredible ways in which wildlife has adapted to thrive in these challenging habitats.

Directed by Matthew Wright, Wild Asia launches in IMAX® and Giant Screen theatres worldwide in January 2026, in both 25-minute and 40-minute versions, distributed by SK Films.

Our camera crews worked incredibly hard in a variety of remote and challenging locations. Now, through OnSight’s meticulous grading and 3D work, their hard-won footage has been vividly brought to the big screen –Matthew Wright
