Every year in the UK, over a million cases are brought before the courts by the police and the Crown Prosecution Service – and for those in the dock, only one thing stands between freedom and a prison cell: Barristers.
From murder to international drugs smuggling to violent assault, this ground-breaking series follows the country’s leading defence barristers as they fight for clients charged with serious crimes. Going deep behind the scenes of our legal system, this series reveals just what it takes to keep the scales of justice balanced and defend individuals whose liberty is on the line.
Executive Producers were Kathy Myers and Richard Melman, Series Editor Rob McCabe, Series Producers Garfield Carrott and Ed Dallal, Directors Jermaine Blake and Miriam Lyons, Production Managers Biancha Rollock and Laura Hartwell. The Spring Films production team, including Claire Kessie and Pat Footer, worked alongside OnSight’s team where we provided post production offline and finishing services. Senior Colourist Andy Lee provided the grade whilst Andy Coles worked on the mix and Adam Sample completed online work. This was overseen by OnSight’s post producer Jade Townsend. It was a privilege to work on this project that has a unique insight into a little known part of the justice system.
