February 25, 2025The iconic music of Hans Zimmer is coming to theatres in a one-of-a-kind concert film! Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamond in the Desert will hit big screens around the world on March 19. Shot in Dubai, the film is not just a musical experience—it’s a behind-the-scenes look at Zimmer’s incredible career and the filmmakers and artists who have collaborated with him.
The majority of the film will showcase Zimmer’s epic live performances, featuring his band and orchestra playing some of his most famous compositions from films like Dune, The Lion King, Gladiator, and Interstellar.
It also features exclusive documentary-style interviews with some of the stars Zimmer has worked with throughout his career, including Billie Eilish, Finneas, Johnny Marr, Christopher Nolan, Jerry Bruckheimer, Pharrell Williams, Tanya Lapointe, Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Denis Villeneuve.
The film is directed by Paul Dugdale, and produced by Simon Fisher with SiFi Productions, Steven Kofsky, Michael Marto, Omar Saab and John Featherstone. Trafalgar Releasing is handling the global release, excluding the Middle East, where Vox will distribute the film. We were pleased to host the grade for the film with Colour by Steve Atkins, Online Edit by Alfie Mitchell, and deliverables, all overseen by Post Producer Jade Townsend.
“The Hans Zimmer Live tour has been one of the most exciting experiences of my career, and I’m thrilled to bring it to an audience in cinemas globally with Diamond in the Desert. Seeing these compositions transform from their big-screen origins to the live show then back to the big screen is a delightful full-circle moment. I hope audiences enjoy this peek behind the curtain as much as we enjoyed making it.” – Hans Zimmer
