The Beast Within

October 15, 2024

Alexander J. Farrell’s narrative directorial debut, The Beast Within, is a horror-thriller told to us from an isolated little girl uncovering mysteries unnervingly close to home. Having had a cinema release in the USA, the film is now available on Amazon Prime in the UK!

Set deep in rural England, the film is framed from the point of view of Harington’s character’s 10-year-old daughter (Caoilinn Springall). Behind the walls of her family’s isolated, fortified compound, she begins to question her unusual life. She discovers that once a month her father turns into a monster. Her parents say the monster is nothing to be afraid of but when the monster escapes, the girl has to confront the harsh reality of her father’s identity and make a life-altering decision.

Kit Harington plays Springall’s father, Ashleigh Cummings her mother, alongside James Consmo. The film was shot on location in Yorkshire.

The screenplay is co-written with Greer Ellison, with cinematography by Daniel Katz, producers Merlin Merton, Alex Chang, and Sebastian Street, and executive producers Perry Doc Alleva, Addam Bramich, Nicholas de Graffenreid, and Ulf Ek. Arclight Films handled worldwide sales for the project, with Signature Entertainment distributing in the UK, and Universal Pictures worldwide.

We were pleased to complete picture post for this project, with Andy Lee and Max Horton grading, Andrew Fisun and Adam Sample on online, and Andrew on the conform, overseen by Senior Post Producer Joana Coelho.
