The Greatest Show Never Made is on Prime Video from 11th October!

October 11, 2023

“It was a huge pleasure working with Onsight’s creative and technical team on this series. Andy Coles and Andy Lee both did incredibly detailed and clever creative work that pushed the look and feel of the series to another level. The fantastic online and tech team brought their excellent technical expertise and a rigorous, careful approach.” – Ashley Francis Roy, Director

Commissioned by Amazon Prime Video, Factual Fiction’s original true crime series The Greatest Show Never Made premiered its first episode this June at Sheffield DocFest. With a story that has to be seen to be believed, and bold colourful reconstructions and tell-all interviews, The Greatest Show Never Made is a brilliantly fun watch.

Directed by BAFTA Breakthrough Award winning Producer/Director Ashley Francis Roy, produced by Nina Elmatzioglou, Liam Coutts, Sian Guerra, and executive produced by Emily Dalton, Jonathan Smith, and Tom Dalton. The series is also created by Emily Dalton and Tom Dalton (Factual Fiction), Joe Stephenson and Liam Coutts (B Good Picture Company), and developed by Jonathan Smith.

OnSight completed Full Finishing Post, with Senior Colourist Andy Lee, Online Editor Andrew Fisun, Senior Online Editor Adam Sample and Andrew Fisun, and sound by Senior Sound Supervisor Andy Coles.

“Merging fresh interviews with contestants, original 2002 footage, and colourful and goofy re-enactments, it transports viewers back to the early 2000s reality TV boom, when a sixth of the UK’s population was watching Big Brother and a spate of copycat series would emerge in its wake.” – Daniel Dylan Wray, The Guardian

In June 2002, 4 cameras filmed 30 contestants as they travelled to a park in South East London to take part in the biggest reality show on television. Some had quit their jobs, left their homes and partners, all seeking to “escape the 9-5 grind and start on the road to adventure, fame and fortune.”

The problem is that the show didn’t exist.

Original documentary storytelling is a key part of our growing UK slate, from nail-biting sport to intriguing whodunnits and stranger-than-fiction history, we’re excited to be working with tremendously talented filmmakers, both new directors and legends of the genre, to bring these remarkable human stories to a global audience.” Dan Grabiner, Head of UK Originals, Amazon Studios.
