Doors wide open for ONSIGHT

13th December, 2012

The camera and post production teams at ONSIGHT are proud to have facilitated and delivered the upcoming drama, Doors Open, for Sprout Pictures.

Starring Stephen Fry, Douglas Henshall and Lenora Critchlow, the story is a dramatisation of Ian Rankin’s novel of the same name. Published in 2008, the book revolves around Mike Mackenzie, a wealthy man who instigates a thrilling art heist set against the backdrop of Edinburgh, targeting the National Gallery of Scotland. ONSIGHT’s Colourist Andy Lee graded the show in their DI Reference Suite, working closely with DoP George Steel.

ONSIGHT’s camera department supplied the production team with a bespoke ARRI Alexa package for the shoot. Sprout Pictures’ Head of Production, Zoe Rocha, says, “The team at ONSIGHT offered a great service. They really understood the creative brief right from the beginning which made the whole process incredibly smooth. We are already working on our next project together.”

Doors Open is the first Rankin thriller to be broadcasted on ITV1 since Rebus. Directed by Marc Evans, Stephen Fry plays Professor Gissing in the two-hour drama and Ian Rankin himself appears in a cameo role. The film can be seen on Boxing Day at 9pm.
