Alongside this year's Rugby World Cup comes Building Jerusalem, a new feature documentary that revisits the England rugby team's glorious campaign in 2003.
New Black Films tells the extraordinary story through never before seen material, match footage and special interviews with Jonny Wilkinson, Sir Clive Woodward and the likes, using picture and sound post from ONSIGHT.
The film is directed by James Erskine (The Battle of the Sexes) and produced by Victoria Gregory (Senna). "We had a very positive experience at ONSIGHT and continue to work together with good reason." James, also a Co-Founder of New Black, adds, "For Building Jerusalem, their team seemed to relish the challenges. We had to be authentic to the volumes of archive and new footage, while bearing in mind how we tell this astonishing story. With the look, Andy Lee really finessed the film to help capture the sporting history."
ONSIGHT managed the high volume of data and formats from the 90s to present day that resulted in an extensive conform process. The team, including Senior Colourist Andy Lee, Online Editors Matt Pamplin, Chris Young and Sound Supervisor Andy Coles, performed archive restoration, the grade, audio and mastering.
For one night only on 1 September, the film was satellite screened across the UK, followed by a live Q&A with key contributors from the red carpet premiere at Empire Leicester Square. It is avaialble on DVD and Blu-ray from 14 September.
