ONSIGHT sponsors 3D Creative Summit for the second yearDate: 24th February, 2014

The 3D Creative Summit returns to London and ONSIGHT is a proud sponsor again. On 12 and 13 March, the team is also involved in various sessions to share experiences, creating high-end 3D from production through to post production.

In its second year at the BFI Southbank, the event boasts prominent names in 3D film and television from around the world. They will provide an in-depth look at a selection of productions that set the bar and examine the 3D field and its place in the industry.

Simon Craddock, CEO of ONSIGHT, remarks, “With 3D accepted in the cinema, and glasses-free TV and tablet technology improving at a rapid rate, it’s quality content that will be the issue. The 3D Creative Summit showcases this.”

Speaker highlights include James Cameron, Brian May, Anthony Geffen and Chris Parks.  In the theatre sessions on Day 2, ONSIGHT's Richard Mills joins Caroline Hawkins from Oxford Scientific Films to discuss the making of Pandas 3D from 12PM and Simon Craddock speaks about 'Independent 3D' filmmaking at 4PM with Catherine Owens and Jason Goodman.  That same day, Tony Maher, ONSIGHT’s Senior Producer, conducts a session as part of the 3D Producers Lab, alongside names such as Steve Schklair, CEO of 3ality Technica.  The team is also presenting a series of camera equipment and DIT solutions on both days within the Production Bootcamp for visitors to get up close to the kind of kit, required for successful 3D shoots.

Other high profile productions to be featured are Gravity, Stalingrad and David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum. ONSIGHT provided camera and post solutions on the latter, as well as facilties on further key projects in the Summit schedule, such as Hidden KingdomsEnchanted Kingdom and Flight of the Butterflies.

The 2-day event is produced by Ravensbourne College, Vision3 and the International 3D & Advanced Imaging Society, led by Carrie Wootten, Adam May and Jim Chabin respectively.  With funding from Creative Skillset and the BFI, further sponsorship comes from key contributors to the format, including Sky 3D.  Adam of Vision3 comments, "This year's 3D Creative Summit is geared towards independent producers, which for me is the big growth area for 3D. Jean-Pierre Jenuet (Amelie) has just finished an amazing 3D film The Young and Prodigious TS Spivet, and we’ll also be speaking to Wim Wender’s team about shooting art house 3D. We’ll also have 2 days of live kit and post demo with ONSIGHT and SGO."
