Micro Monsters 3D with David Attenborough wrapsDate: 15th May, 2013

Micro Monsters 3D is the brand new series from Colossus Productions, revealing the complex and intriguing world of insects.  ONSIGHT is providing cameras and post on this next 3D venture written and presented by the legendary natural history broadcaster, Sir David Attenborough.

We congratulate Production on recently completing the shoot, which involved pioneering macroscopic 3D techniques.  Post production is now taking place at our Soho facility with our team of creatives.

The six part series will examine the adaptability and behaviour of creatures such as the praying mantis, bettles and killer ants for the first time in 3D.  Each programme will explore a different part of their lives, normally hidden to the human eye.

About the series:

From the vicious array of armoury and deceptive defensive mechanisms harboured by spiders and scorpions, to the intimate courtship of potential mates and the strategies to ensure their species’ survival. Witness the creation of colonies and see how these incredible social arrangements develop, how they become successful and how they maintain their militant structure.

Micro Monsters 3D with David Attenborough premieres Saturday 15 June on Sky 3D and in 2D on Sky 1 / Sky 1 HD.

Early reviews:

“Remarkable new series. Wondrous. Don’t miss – ****” - The Observer

“Extraordinary – ****” - Sunday Times

“Attenborough is aided by remarkable macroscopic photography in relating some of the fantastic behaviour of these creatures” - Radio Times

This will make it our fifth stereoscopic 3D project with Atlantic Productions and Colossus for Sky. ONSIGHT was the production facilities partner on the highly acclaimed Galapagos with David Attenborough, Kingdom of Plants 3D, The Bachelor King 3D and Flying Monsters 3D with David Attenborough.

More details to come on the making of Micro Monsters 3D and our services.
