On Sight unveils new file-based service

HD Facility On Sight has launched a sercvice designed to help produciton companies which want to make HD programmes using file-based tapeless cameras.

Called HD Safe, the new offering will include planning, management, duplication and storage of digital content. It will also help with insurance requirements, workflow planning and training, camera rental, daily back-ups, data archive and management as well as preperartion for post.

Managing director Simon Craddock and his team spent six months preparing foir launch. He said: "Most post companies do not have the capacity or equipment to offer this service."

Accoriding to Craddock, the cost of this service will depend on individual requirements. "It is difficult to put a price on the offering," he said. "Each workflow will require a different service and number of processes."

HD Safe has been running in a beta-test capacity and was used for a recent AC/DC four RED camera shoot.
