'Galapagos 3D: Nature's Wonderland' lands on the big screen

03rd March, 2014

ONSIGHT continues its specialist work in the Giant Screen format with Galapagos 3D: Nature's Wonderland. Distributed by nWave Pictures in Europe and North America, it is a presentation from Colossus Productions in association with Sky 3D, written by the revered naturalist David Attenborough.

This is the first time the Galapagos archipelago has been shot in 4K 3D, using revolutionary technology.  ONSIGHT provided the camera solutions as well as post production.  The team is delighted to be involved from shoot to post and see the title featured at the 2014 GSCA Film Expo on Monday 24 March.  Other ONSIGHT projects showing at the event include Pandas: The Journey Home.

The new 40-minite film is at IMAX® Theatres and Digital 3D Cinemas, following its release in February 2014.  It is produced by Anthony Geffen and directed by Martin Williams, capturing the extraordinary history and wildlife of the Galapagos.

See the synopsis and trailer below.

In the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, there is a paradise unlike any other: the Galapagos. Amongst these remote volcanic islands, life has played out over millions of years in relative isolation. The result is a wonderland of nature, with a remarkable collection of plants and charismatic animals that have all adapted to this unique environment. Meet giant half-ton tortoises and marine iguanas that spit sea-salt. Dance with the tropical albatrosses and hunt fishes with the colorful blue-footed boobies. Swim with tiny penguins thousands of miles away from their natural habitats. This is a story of discovery, of survival against the odds, and of nature’s ingenuity, all brought to life in stunning 3D.
