Richard Mills, On Sight's Head of Engineering, spoke on behalf of manufacturers Sony and Panasonic as well as joining Axis Films' head of cameras Paul Carter for a seminar on the RED One at this years Broadcast Video Expo.
The Broadcast Video Expo is the UK technology event for production, post, delivery, AV and new media and took place at Earl's Court this February. On Sight and Axis Films (our recently acquired camera specialists) have a proven track record in new HD broadcast technology, something that was reflected by the number manufacturers who asked us to hold seminars at this years exhibition.
On Sight's Richard Mills held daily seminar sessions for Sony at the Production Theatre on XDCAM workflows, giving real world examples of how their format has worked for various types of productions, including the Volvo Ocean Race and Talkback Thames' Escape to the Country, as well as later speaking on the Panasonic Technology Theatre about their tapeless P2 format.
Many thanks goes to Wallander producer Simon Moseley and The Look's Thomas Urbye for sharing their experience and knowledge when they joined Axis Films' Head of Cameras Paul Carter alongside Richard Mills at the Producers Theatre for the in-demand seminar 'New Blood - A producer's guide to RED'.
On Sight was also present at the Apple Solution Experts theatre stand and held a daily (and also very busy) seminar with FCP and camera experts John Myers and Daryl Chase offering their technical expertise on tapeless camera workflows into Final Cut Studio 2, focusing on RED, XDCAM and P2.
