New Captain Scarlet

12th February, 2005

An altogether bigger show handled at On Sight's HD Lab is Gerry Anderson's New Captain Scarlet, an all new 26-part CGI programme with new scripts, characters and stories.

The show, produced by Anderson Entertainment for broadcast in February 2005, has kept a 130-strong production team busy at Pinewood, with four teams including animators and TDs taking eight weeks to complete each 22 minute episode.

The show was edited by Andy Walter and finally conformed using Final Cut Pro HD at Anderson's Pinewood HQ. Phil Stone, the online editor, played out the programme to Sony HDCAM, which was then sent to the HD Lab.

The audio was mixed in 5.1 surround and mastered to digital multitrack. these tapes were also sent to the HD Lab where the master audio was then laid back to the HDCAM masters. Delivery masters and pre-release watermarked copies were then produced.

Online editor Phil Stone is a big fan of On Sight's HD mastering and dubbing work. "it's one of the best companies I've come across. Other places are not such sticklers for detail as these guys. I felt I could trust them implicitly. the quality control reports from On Sight were excellent - need I say more?"
